Cafe Mueller #review

Here in Texas, we are suckers for two things. Great barbecue and craft beers. Cafe Mueller has them both and in droves. Not to mention fantastic artisans pizza, salads and desserts. Recently FoodieGems took an evening out to see what the new Cafe Mueller in Austin, TX. was all about. Even on a hot Austin night, we were cooled off by what was on tap. And boy do we mean On Tap. Cafe Mueller carries 6 different local craft brews on tap at all times. 512 Pecan Porter, Live Oak Liberation Ale, St. Arnold Fancy Lawnmower, Real Ale Devil’s Backbone, Adelbert’s Naked Nun, & Circle Envy Amber. And if a 12 oz or 32 oz is not enough for you, you can purchase a "Growler" to go. A 64 oz. behemoth filled with the craft beer of your choice. #FoodieGems Approved!

Now on to the food. They have anything from Chopped Brisket to a Prosciutto di Parma Plate. I told you they had variety. When we stopped in we had the St Louis Spare Ribs, Sausage & Brisket. The ring around this meat was incredible. Tender and succulent, are ya gettin' hungry? We got the Brisket Beans, Creamed Corn & Mueller Potato Salad. Hey, watch out County Line. Cafe Mueller is gunnin' for ya!

We also tried one of the Neapolitan-Style Pizzas. The Prosciutto, Arugula & Parmesan one to be exact and it was D-VINE! Finely sliced Prosciutto along with spicy Arugula were the perfect combination. Cafe Mueller uses an authentic Italian crust to make you think you are in a quaint cafe on the streets of Naples.

Craft Beer. It really needs to be it's own sentence, don't you think?

We tried the Live Oak Liberation Ale as well as the 512 Pecan Porter, both brewed in Austin. They paired beautifully with our meals and left us wanting more.

Even on the hot Austin evening we chose to sit outside on the patio, where a companion of the 4-legged variety joined us. It felt like Austin, it was Austin, through and through. However, they do have a fairly large indoor eating area and walk up counter.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely excited to serve. How about that, huh? All in all, we would come back again and again. Cafe Mueller is a crowning touch to the ever developing Mueller District off of I-35 & E. 51st St.

Head on over, do some shopping, pick up some St Louis Spare Ribs and a Growler of Craft Beer and go watch those Longhorns!!

Here's to all you #Foodies out there. Keep looking for the best eats, and don't forget to share them with us.
