If you have spent anytime on social media and live in and around the Austin area then you have heard of the Austin Food Blogger Alliance. When you go to their web site their "About" is clear cut and inspiring.

 (AFBA) seeks to support a local membership of food bloggers and the community through educational initiatives, social events, philanthropic endeavors, and by upholding a commonly shared code of ethics.

They are not just about the food. They are about giving back to the community they inhabit. Since we are food lovers ourselves we wanted to shed some light on an event coming up for them. It's the Austin Food Blogger Alliance Meet/Greet and Book Signing. A book you ask? Why yes, they have published a Cookbook. On Thursday, December 12th from 5:00-7:30p at Serve on West 3rd St. they will be gathering to meet and greet with other Foodies. I encourage you to drop in, taste some samples from the book, pick up a copy of the cookbook and say hello from FoodieGems.

The cookbook offers much promise since it is a culmination of the culinary enthusiasts that make up our great city of Austin. From Persian stew to Texas sheet cake. Let your palate be tempted.
