A Taste of Tokyo in Austin...Uchi

FoodieGems

Looking for a great night out on the town? Feeling the urge to splurge on the Mrs.? Well, if you're a sushi lover and you're in the Austin area, make Uchi number one on your list. Uchi may not be the "typical" taste of Texas, but it does offer some of the best sushi in town. Daily, fresh fish is flown in from the Tsukiji market in Tokyo. But that's not all, Uchi also offers the perfect combination of both texture and flavors, making your meal a total sensory experience. Not only is the food delicious, but the presentation is phenomenal. This can lead to initial doubts about taking your first bite, but trust me, once you do, those thoughts will quickly diminish.

What's on the Menu?
Salmon, baby yellow tail, scallops, kimchee, shrimp, eel and "sear it yourself"  wagyu beef are just a few  of the delicious foods you will find on the menu.
With so much mouth-watering food on your plate, there will be no sharing this night. In fact, it may result in a fight for the last bite.

A little bit about the chef.
As Executive Chef, Tyson Cole is the man responsible for your upcoming addiction to Uchi. He has spent over 10 years mastering the Japanese cuisine. He also worked in one of the busiest sushi restaurants in New York City and even spent some time in Japan mastering this fine art.  Since the opening in 2003, Tyson has proven his knowledge of food, technical skill, as well as his artistic gift to combine ingredients and flavors into a one of a kind display. Thus he continues to offer Austin a little "taste of Tokyo". No wonder it has quickly become one of the top fine dining restaurants in Austin. For all you sushi lovers, this will be your new home. For those who haven't tried sushi before, this is the place to start. In fact, you won't find another place like it.

Uchi is located at 801 South Lamar in Austin. It's open Sunday - Thursday 5pm - 10pm and Friday - Saturday 5pm-11pm. To learn more about Uchi, check out:  http://www.uchiaustin.com
