Let’s admit it, there’s
something special about the combination of football and wings. Whether it’s a
pre-season game, a regular season game or the Super Bowl, I think it’s safe to
say that football without wings just isn’t the same.
Hence, with the Super Bowl this weekend, here at FoodieGems we thought we would share one of our favorite wing
recipes. True, our Cowboys or Texans didn’t make the Super Bowl this year, but
that’s no reason to not celebrate, right?
If you’re planning on hosting
or attending a Super Bowl party this year, look no further as to what to bring!
They taste delicious and are perfect for any ‘finger-food’ occasion, such as
the Super Bowl.
Burnin’ Buffalo Chicken
Wings
What You Will Need:
3 pounds of chicken wings
1 ½ cups of Mild or Medium
hot Sauce
½ cup of buttermilk
½ teaspoon of garlic powder
½ stick of butter unmelted
Directions:
1. Combine the 1 cup of the
hot sauce, garlic powder and buttermilk in a resealable plastic bag.
2. Add chicken to the plastic
bag, seal and squeeze out excess air. Turn the bag over to coat the chicken
wings evenly and allow to marinate in the refrigerator between 2-12 hours,
turning occasionally.
3. Cover a baking sheet with
aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on the baking sheet (this makes the wings more
crispy). Set boiler on high.
4. Remove wings from the
marinade and place on wire rack. If possible, try to keep them from touching.
5. Allow to broil for 12
minutes or until golden brown. Then, flip and broil the other side for 12
minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Meanwhile combine ½ cup of
hot sauce and melted butter in a large bowl and set aside.
7. Once wings have been
cooked, remove from wire rack and coat with the remaining hot sauce.
8. Add your favorite dipping sauce
such as ranch or blue cheese and enjoy!
