Leftover Halloween Candy Ideas

Another Halloween has come and gone. And along with this festive holiday are countless memories bound to last a lifetime, as well as baskets full of Halloween candy that could take days... weeks... for anyone to finish! FoodieGems.com is here to the rescue!

With a bunch of these treats lying around, here are a few simple things you can do with your leftover Halloween candy to put them to good use:

  • One delicious way of using candy is by making your own chocolate ganache. This can be made from just about any kind of chocolate you have. Just pour heavy cream to a pan, add in chopped chocolates, let it boil until it’s thick, refrigerate, and voila! You can top it on freshly baked cakes or cupcakes, sprinkle in a couple more grated white chocolate or crushed candies you have leftover, and you have your own delicious treat!

  • Other things you can make with your candy are homemade chocolate mousse and S’mores. By using marshmallows, chocolate bars, graham crackers, and sprinkles, one simply couldn’t fail at whipping up these yummy delights.

  • Another way to put leftover Halloween candy to good use is by making lovely drinks for guests or all for yourself to enjoy on a cold night. A heavenly mug of hot chocolate can just about do the trick. Melt chocolate along with a cup of milk, pour to a cup, top with whipped cream, a dash of cinnamon, marshmallows, or peppermint candies, and that’s about it.

  • Lastly, if you no longer wish to eat all that gooey, chocolatey goodness, you can always put them in crafty paper bags, tie ribbons around, give them away or donate them to one of our local shelters.
Whatever you do, as long as you put your heart to it, allow yourself to become creative, and indulge, you can honestly never go wrong!
